Raised in New Zealand, David spent his early days in the Canterbury High Country as a shepherd before following his love of the ocean and heading overseas to sail. Whether cruising the trade winds, island hopping the tropics or racing abroad everything from America's Cup contenders to dinghies, he developed a love for the fabric of nature. David has now turned his attention to creating art work that reflects his life and experiences.
Fascinated by the seasonal changes and the colours that it brings you will find his work influenced by the world he has seen from the decks of the yachts he has sailed. The colours and patterns he draws out of the raw materials are an expression of a vision. Each piece being handcrafted means that no two are the same and you will be intrigued by the variety found in one piece just like in nature itself.
David now divides his time between his studios in New Zealand and the United States.
