Katie Trinkle Legge:
Waiheke Island

Katie was born in New York in 1965. She received her BFA with honors in 1988 from the university of the Arts in Philadelphia. While at university, she explored many mediums eventually focusing on painting.

Today her work is a unique combination of contemporary and classical painting styles. Her lush pallet of oil paints and powerful brush strokes evoke a dynamic sense of subject matter and understanding of light bring common objects to a new plane. She has been exhibiting her work professionally for over 30 years.

Katie and her Kiwi husband Darren and their son Jake relocated from Nantucket, MA in the USA to New Zealand in 2010. Most of her paintings are created in her studio located on the island of Waiheke. There, the light and natural beauty have influenced her colour pallet.

Katie's work is exhibited and collected internationally.
